Traveling: How to Pack Like a Pro

One might agree that packing is the worst part of traveling. You need to fit all the essentials in a bag that is supposed to last you for a few days. Pack too little, and you might find yourself running to a convenience store; pack too much, then you’ll be walking around with heavy bags.

The trick to a carefree vacation is only to pack what you need and secure yourself with travel insurance. Here are some tips and tricks to pack like a pro for your next trip.

Prepare a list

Not sure what to bring to your beach holiday? Do you have everything you need? It’s always great to prepare ahead by writing down what you need, rather than waiting for the last minute.

Way before your vacation begins, you should already create a list of items you plan to bring with you. It’s a sure way not to forget your things.

Roll your clothes

You probably already know this tip if you’re a seasoned traveler, especially backpackers that pack months worth of clothing with them.

Rolling your clothes takes less place than folding your clothes and laying them flat. Having them curled also prevents wrinkles and creases, so you don’t have to iron them when you want to wear them.

Do some research

Before you pack, it doesn’t hurt to read your airline’s baggage policy. An airline might have different sets of rules than the other.

Make sure you research your airline so you can avoid extra charges.

Wash your clothes

You can decrease your load if you decide to wash your dirty clothes so you can wear them again. If your accommodation provides free laundry services, that’s great! However, if you’re staying in a hotel and can’t afford their laundry services, here’s a tip for you.

Instead of paying for the high price, pack with you some laundry detergent and some clips for you to hang your clothes. Wash them at the toilet, and let them dry when you’re outside.

Keep your belongings with you

It is never wise to keep your essential documents away from you. Your passport, identification, money, jewelry and credit cards should always be on your body.

Don’t check in these valuables, but have them in your carry-on luggage. You never know what will happen to your bag when it’s out of your sight.

Packing for vacation doesn’t have to be a chore. Make sure you start early and don’t procrastinate. It’s always better to be prepared than to mess up your vacation.
